Keiichi Tanaka
Tanaka is a Saitama based potter. Since graduating from the Department of Industrial, Interior and Craft Design at Mushashino Art University. His work has been featured in solo exhibitions and included in group exhibitions around the world.
Tanaka uses slab building techniques paired with his original metallic glazes. This combination lends his works not only a sharpness, but also a surprising softness different from the metals’ properties that is unique to his ceramics.
The atmosphere created by the work of Tanaka is one of “time accumulation”, which results in a feeling of nostalgia as if these pieces came from a time long, long ago.
