Animal plate by Chihiro Sakai

Sakai studied ceramic at Joshibi University of Art and Design and started her career to paint on white porcelain works such as Kutani and Arita wares. Under influence of wood engraving and papercutting work, she draws animals around her using some glazes. With the monotone effect, bold but delicate brushwork make gently and cynical creatures.
