This Yakishime, firing unglazed wares at relatively lower temperature is by Shigeyoshi Morioka. Morioka was born in Nara prefecture in 1948. He lives and works in Amani, Wakayama prefecture and creates a pottery such as Nanban Yakishime using Kaiyu and Hakeme techniques with wood firing. This tea cup is a good example of his signature works. You can feel the beauty of fire.
