Wood fired plate by Teppei Ono

Wood fired plate with a gorgeous glaze by one of the living master ceramists in Japan, Teppei Ono. Ono was born in Ehime, Japan in 1958. Currently he works and lives in Kami-shi, Kochi prefecture.

In 1985, master potter Ono Teppei built a kiln on a small mountain in Tokoname. Later, in 2001, he built another which took three years to finish. He creates clay vessels in his personal quest to be free, writing that the power of art is not only resistance, but also the release of emotions that brings freedom.

Ono’s work is very reliable for daily use and expresses the simple lifestyle of our human being. Bold and rustic work must bring you warm and comfortable time for sure. 

Because of the handmade nature of this product, each plate is unique and may vary in measurements and color.
